Webinar offered to help aging Americans cope with loss, dying and death

A webinar to help aging individuals cope with loss, dying and death in later life will be presented at Penn State Mont Alto from 9:30 a.m. to noon on May 22, in room 304 of the Science and Technology Building. It is open to the public and free of charge. Healthcare professionals can receive 2.5 hours of continuing education credit through Hospice Foundation of America at a cost of $21 per certificate.

Registration for summer 'Kids in College' programs open for 2019

The Office of Continuing Education at Penn State New Kensington has opened registration for its annual Kids in College summer camp programs for youth in elementary, middle and high schools. More than 40 programs focused on science, technology, engineering, arts and math, as well as fun, are offered.

Thinking outside the box is everyday ‘business as usual’ for Shenango staff

Scranton nursing program hosts opioid informational session

The campus' nursing program hosted a Lunch and Learn program on northeast Pennsylvania?s opioid epidemic. Representatives from the Wright Center for Community Health discussed how opiates have been used to treat pain, and the devastating neurological and physiological effects opioid addiction has on the body, as well as treatment options.

Six named 2019-20 Big Ten Academic Alliance Academic Leadership Program Fellows

The Big Ten Academic Alliance's Academic Leadership Program will include six new Fellows from Penn State in 2019-20. The program focuses on addressing the challenges of academic administration at major research universities. Through the program, participants who have demonstrated exceptional ability and administrative promise can further develop their leadership and managerial skills.

STEAM careers are focus of program for seventh grade girls

More than 200 seventh grade girls will explore all things STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) during the 23rd annual Pathways to Your Future: Exploring STEAM Careers program on Friday, May 10 at Penn State York. The program offers 30 workshops, and is free.
