Training program available to recovering addicts

If you have a history of addiction recovery and want to help others, Penn State Shenango will host a Beaver campus Continuing Education course on ?Certified Recovery Specialist Training? from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturdays, beginning Oct. 5 and ending Dec. 14, in Sharon Hall room 108 in downtown Sharon, Pennsylvania.

Drawdown Scholars returning to Penn State for international conference

Undergraduate students from across the country are returning to Penn State next week for the first international conference on the science of drawdown, the point at which greenhouse gases in the atmosphere begin to decline. The students, participants in this past summer?s Penn State Drawdown Scholars Research Experience for Undergraduates Program, will present results from their summer research projects from Sept. 16-18.

Lecture on prehistoric inscriptions planned at Penn State DuBois

North Central PA LaunchBox's $50,000 BIG Idea Contest deadline fast approaching

The deadline for submitting ideas to the BIG Idea Contest is fast approaching. All submissions must be made by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24. Ben Franklin Technology Partners and the North Central PA LaunchBox Powered by Penn State DuBois are holding this contest for aspiring entrepreneurs. The winning idea for a unique new product, service or business concept could be awarded up to $50,000.

Basket Bingo Night to benefit THON

A Basket Bingo Night is planned at Penn State DuBois to benefit THON, the Penn State Dance Marathon held each February to raise funds to help battle childhood cancer. Bingo Night is planned for 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, in the Hiller Student Union.
