Penn State alumni representing four northeast regional campuses ? Hazleton, Schuylkill, Scranton and Wilkes-Barre ? will offer ?A Night of Penn State Jazz? on Oct. 15 at the historic Ritz Theater in Scranton. Doors will open at 6 pm. The concert, featuring Penn State?s Centre Dimensions jazz ensemble, will begin at 7 p.m.
Penn State Laureate William Doan, professor of theatre in the College of Arts and Architecture and artist in residence in the College of Nursing, will speak at Penn State Hazleton on Tuesday, Sept. 24, on the topic ?The Anxiety Project: An Artist?s Look at Mental Health and Wellness.? His presentation will begin at 12:15 p.m. in Room 1 of the Kostos Building. It is free and open to the public.
The Penn State Hazleton Alumni Society has organized a bus trip for ?a day on your own? in New York City on Saturday, Dec. 7, with seats filling fast. All are invited to purchase a ticket for the trip, which costs $40 and includes bus transportation, water and snacks.
Penn State Hazleton will host a blood drive on behalf of the American Red Cross on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The drive will be held in the Thomas M. Caccese Gymnasium in the Physical Education Building from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Penn State Hazleton will host its faculty research expo on Monday, Sept. 23, beginning at 12:15 p.m. in Room 1 of the Kostos Building. The event is designed to introduce students to faculty research and give them the opportunity to learn more about how they can participate in the research.
Author, professor and poet Javier Ávila will bring his one-man show, "The Perfect Latino," to Penn State Hazleton at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in the Evelyn Graham Academic Building. The presentation is free and open to the public.
