TEAM OF THE WEEK
Penn State Scranton Baseball
The Penn State Scranton baseball team rocketed up the East Division standings last week, taking three of four games from Penn State Schuylkill. Scranton outscored the USCAA"s fifth-ranked team 31-11 in their victories, including a 5-0 shutout on Saturday. Thor Kelly pitched a complete game two-hitter in htat contest as his defense was a huge factor, as only two of the 21 outs were strikeouts. Guy Mushow added three homers and seven RBIs during the week, reaching base in half of his 16 plate appearances.
BASEBALL HITTER OF THE WEEK 7
Dan Zimmerman, Penn State Schuylkill
Second Year
Pine Grove, Pa.
Penn State Schuylkill's Dan Zimmerman went to the plate 28 times last week over eight games and got on base a whopping 15 times. Zimmerman finished the week 12-for-24 at the plate, including eight extra base hits as his team went 5-3. He cracked three homers and drove in 17 runs while scoring eight times. On the season, Zimmerman is batting .336 with 37 runs driven in, tied for third in the conference.

BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK 7
Maclain Welshans, Penn State DuBois
Fourth Year
Penns Valley, Pa.
Penn State DuBois' Maclain Welshans was dominant on the hill on Friday, helping DuBois to their only win in the series. Welshans pitched a complete game, allowing just two hits and two runs, with just one being earned. Welshans struck out 14 of the 21 batters he faced, marking a career-high. The win improved Welshans to 3-0 on the season as DuBois remains in the hunt for the top seed in the West Division.

Linda Shepard, Penn State New Kensington

Linda Shepard just keeps raking at the plate, finishing the week 9-for-13 with five extra base hits and 11 RBIs. Shepard's play has catapulted New Kensington to the top of the PSUAC Softball standings as the team finished 4-0 and has won six of their last seven games. Shepard contributed everywhere she played, finishing perfect in the field on six total chances and picking up two wins in the circle, allowing no hits and no runs over six innings.

Aryanna Bodget picked up her second PSUAC Pitcher of the Week award this week, pitching 18 innings over four appearances for Penn State Schuylkill. Bodge had a contribution in each game she pitched, going 2-1 with a save. Bodge finished the week with 16 strikeouts and a 1.94 ERA and threw a complete game in a shutout win over Penn State Mont Alto.

Jake Iacavazzi, Penn State Scranton

Jake Iacavazzi smacked four hits and drove in six runs for Penn State Scranton last week as they won three of four against Penn State Schuylkill. Iacavazzi had a .500 on-base percentage and a double as Scranton leaped into second place in the division. Perfect behind the plate in 11 chances, Iacavazzi helped his pitchers limit Schuylkill's dangerous offense to just 11 runs in Scranton's three wins.
