Four PSUAC Women's Basketball Players to be Recognized at Women's Basketball Hall of Fame's Ring of Honor

KNOXVILLE, Tn. - If a Penn State sports fan happens to be in or around the area of Knoxville, Tennessee, in the next year, a visit to the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame should be included in the plans. In addition to the many highlights already housed within the museum, four familiar PSUAC jersey's will be seen hanging from the rafters. Soon to be senior, Jah'nel Oliver and recent grad, Taylor Styles, from Penn State Lehigh Valley, will have their jerseys displayed the Hall of Fame's "Ring of Honor". Joining them from Penn State Schuylkill will be recent grad Alyssa Gerber and rising sophomore Tajae Stevenson.

The "Ring of Honor" consists of more than 100 jerseys hanging from the rafters. The display includes jerseys of the top high school and college players from the previous season. The "Ring of Honor" has displayed jerseys from some of the best players in the world, including Candace Parker, Brittney Griner, Sue Bird, Candice Wiggins and Breanna Stewart.

Gerber and Stevenson led Schuylkill to the PSUAC Championship game, where they finished as runners-up. However, an at-large bid to the USCAA National Championship tournament extended their season and Schuylkill would knock off the number one seed Johnson & Wales (NC) to advance to the championship game, ultimately finishing as the runners-up. Gerber was named a USCAA 1st Team All-American while Stevenson made the 2nd Team. They led their team to an 18-1 conference record, and finished 24-9 overall.

Oliver and Styles had stellar 2021-2022 seasons; leading their team to the 2nd best record in program history going 22-6 and helping their team to advance to the PSUAC semi-finals. Oliver was named PSUAC East Defensive Player of the Year, PSUAC East 1st Team All-Conference and USCAA 2nd Team All-American. Oliver, who will be coming back for her COVID year, is only 32 points away from scoring her 1,000 career point. Jah'nel is also a dean's list student and on the PSUAC All-Academic team. Styles was named PSUAC Honorable Mention All-Conference and USCAA Honorable Mention All-American. She also became the 5th Penn State Lehigh Valley Women's Basketball player to score her 1,000 career point. Taylor, who was a transfer from Lackawanna College, recently graduated from Penn State Lehigh Valley with a degree in Rehab & Human Services.

The four 2022 honorees join former Lehigh Valley women's basketball star Ebony Sanders and Penn State Hazleton's McKenzie Prustman in having their jerseys displayed at the WBHOF.
